In cooperation with the Town of Split, and as part of the European project REMEDIO, Split parking d.o.o. has introduced the Public Bicycle System a new form of public transport. This new multimodal way of how transport functions in Split facilitates a healthier and more mobile way of life, reduces traffic congestion, and responds to modern challenges concerning environmental protection. It is expected that in the future this, the cheapest, form of transport will be available to citizens in all Split neighbourhoods.

For bike rentals, users can register on the web www.nextbike.hr/hr/split and via  mobile app nextbike or at the terminal at the station.

Activation requires a valid credit or debit card (Mastercard, VISA, Diners, American Express) with the amount for activation specified in the price list.

After making the payment, it is mandatory to send a confirmation of payment along with a photo or scan of your ID card to info@nextbike.hr and wait for a confirmation email about the activation of your Nextbike account.

Subscription can also be activated by sending an SMS with the content 20, 40, 50, 80, or 100 to 707070.

SMS top-ups can be performed by users of all mobile networks except Tele2.

Q & A

What should I do if there are no empty spots in the racks?

If there are no free spots in the racks, you need to lower and lock the lock on the back of the bike (under the seat or under the rear fender).

 
How many bikes can I rent at once?

Each user can rent two bikes simultaneously.

A user with an annual subscription can rent one bike under the subscription conditions (30 minutes free), and the rental of the second bike is charged according to the pay-as-you-go option.

How will I know if I have returned the bike correctly?

The bike should be returned to one of the official stations into the appropriate rack, ensuring that the front wheel is not hanging in the air. The bike should be locked by lowering the lever on the lock even if it is returned to the rack.

If there is no free rack at the station, leave the bike next to the other bikes and lock it by lowering the lever on the lock. The app will record the end of the rental.

Why is it important to report a problem with the bike or terminal?

 

We want to provide our users with fast rentals and safe, functioning bikes at all times. If you notice something is wrong, please report the issue via the terminal, mobile app, or by calling 01 777 6534 or 091 400 4402 so we can resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Reporting a problem will not be charged.

Where can I view my account?

You can view ride details and history in the Nextbike app. You can download your ride invoice on the website www.nextbike.hr after logging in with your user account information.

Is it possible to charge my card without my consent?

Charging via card depends on the type of your card and the conditions your bank has for executing payments through the payment system. If you have saved your card for future service payments, depending on the bank and the type of card, charges without additional verification are possible.

NOTES FOR USERS

Bike Rental Conditions - Bike Condition

If a user notices that the bike is not in working order, they must notify Nextbike Croatia at 01777 6534 or 091400 4402. Before renting, the user is required to check that the bike is in a rideable condition (frame, tires, brakes, lights, etc.). If the user detects a technical fault with the bike at the start or during the rental period, they are obligated to inform Nextbike Croatia at 01777 6534 or 091400 4402 and terminate the rental.

Users responsibility

The user operates the bike at their own risk. The user assumes full responsibility for any damage they cause. This also applies to claims from third parties. The user's responsibility for the bike begins at the moment they receive the unlock code and continues until the bike is successfully returned and checked by Nextbike Croatia, or until the bike is rented by another user.

Accidents with Rented Bikes

In the event of an accident involving not only the bike user but also third parties and objects, the user is required to immediately report the accident to Nextbike Croatia and to the nearest police station. If the user fails to report the accident, they will be responsible for any damage caused to Nextbike Croatia due to the accident. Accidents include: collisions with third parties or vehicles, damage to the bike by the user or third parties, theft, etc.

Bike Rental Using User Data and Blocking User Accounts

The user may authorize another adult person to use their user data, but this is done at the user’s own risk. The user must ensure that the other person is familiar with the general terms and conditions of Nextbike Croatia. The user is responsible for any actions taken by the third party authorized by them to use their user data. Nextbike Croatia is authorized to revoke user rights if there is a violation of the general terms and conditions of use by the user or the person authorized by the user.

Billing, Rental, Verification

At the end of the bike rental, the user will be notified of the charges on their Nextbike account online at www.nextbike.hr. After the user exhausts their credit for rentals, all subsequent rentals will automatically be billed according to the current price list, and the amount will be deducted from the user's credit or debit card. The details of your subscription and options can be managed or canceled at any time at www.nextbike.hr. The user can check all previous rental activities through their user account on the website, using their mobile number as the username and the assigned PIN as the password for login. Any user complaints regarding billed amounts must be submitted in writing within 30 calendar days from the date the charge was made.

General Terms of Use

Users are requested to use the Public Bike System conscientiously and responsibly, as specified in the General Terms of Use. All costs incurred due to violations or non-compliance with the General Terms of Use will be charged immediately.
